XMAQUINA DAO Raises $900K to Decentralize Physical AI

  • XMAQUINA DAO has raised $900,000 in its Genesis Auction, funding R&D for open-source AI, robotics projects, and value-generating machines like robo-cafes.
  • XMAQUINA DAO aims to open up the development and governance of autonomous machines to the public, challenging the dominance of big tech and venture capital in AI-powered robotics.
  • The $DEUS token, launched in the auction, will allow holders to stake and vote on proposals, shaping the future of AI-driven automation on the peaq blockchain.

XMAQUINA DAO has concluded its Genesis Auction on the peaq network, raising 3,703,703 $PEAQ tokens, equivalent to approximately $900,000. This initiative aims to make the development and governance of autonomous machines more accessible to the general public, challenging the current landscape dominated by large corporations and venture capitalists.

The Rise of Physical AI

Physical AI, encompassing AI-integrated autonomous machines like robots and self-driving vehicles, is rapidly emerging as a big industry. Companies such as NVIDIA and Tesla are at the forefront, pushing the boundaries of automation.

NVIDIA, for instance, plans to launch its latest compact computer for humanoid robots, Jetson Thor, in first half of 2025, positioning itself as a key player in the anticipated robotics revolution. The company offers a comprehensive solution, from software for training AI-powered robots to the necessary hardware components.

Similarly, Tesla is advancing its automation efforts with the development of Optimus robots, aiming to integrate AI into physical forms to enhance efficiency and productivity.

These developments signify a broader trend where AI is increasingly intersecting with the physical world, leading to innovations that were once the realm of science fiction.

XMAQUINA DAO’s Vision

Despite these advancements, the high costs associated with autonomous robotics research and development have largely confined innovation to well-funded entities, leaving little room for individual contributors.

XMAQUINA DAO seeks to disrupt this paradigm by creating a decentralized platform where individuals can co-create, govern, and share in the value of robotics and AI-driven solutions. The DAO emphasizes transparency, decentralization, and ethical innovation, aiming to build a global ecosystem that serves humanity collectively.

The funds raised from the Genesis Auction will be utilized to support robotics projects and open-source AI initiatives. XMAQUINA plans to establish its own research and development arm and deploy fleets of value-generating machines, such as robo-cafes. Notably, the DAO has already showcased a robo-cafe in Dubai, demonstrating the practical applications of its vision.

Central to this ecosystem is the $DEUS governance token, which was introduced during the Genesis Auction and is scheduled for a Token Generation Event (TGE) on the peaq network later in 2025. Token holders will have the ability to stake their $DEUS tokens and participate in the decision-making processes of the DAO, thereby influencing the direction of future projects and initiatives.

Democratizing Innovation

By lowering the barriers to entry, XMAQUINA DAO aims to involve a broader segment of the population in the development of autonomous machines.

Community members will have the opportunity to direct the DAO’s treasury toward promising projects in robotics and related fields, such as open-source AI. This inclusive approach seeks to ensure that the benefits of automation and AI are distributed more equitably across society.

Jessica Alvarez, a founding member of XMAQUINA, noted: “It’s been incredible to see more than a thousand participants join the Genesis Auction and become official DAO members! The momentum behind decentralizing Physical AI is real—and this is just the start. Big things are ahead as we build a democratic machine economy governed by the people.”

“We live in a time of immense breakthroughs and innovation, but the access to their boons is uneven,” stated peaq Co-founder, Leonard Dorlöchter.

“XMAQUINA and peaq share the vision of making automation work for everyone and empowering the everyman to be a stakeholder in this tectonic change,” Leonard added.

The Broader Impact of AI on Autonomous Machines

The integration of AI into autonomous machines is reshaping various industries, from transportation to manufacturing. In the automotive sector, companies like Waymo, backed by Alphabet, are investing heavily in self-driving technology. Despite significant advancements, challenges such as high operational costs and regulatory hurdles persist. For instance, Waymo has yet to achieve profitability due to substantial expenses associated with developing and deploying autonomous vehicles.

In robotics, AI is enhancing the capabilities of machines, enabling them to perform complex tasks with greater efficiency. NVIDIA has forayed into robotics to drive future growth by leveraging AI to bring innovation in this field. The company’s comprehensive approach, offering both hardware and software solutions, positions it as a significant player in the robotics industry.

However, the rapid advancement of AI and automation raises concerns about job displacement and economic inequality. Studies have shown that industrial robots can negatively affect employment and wages, with the impact varying across regions and industries. Addressing these challenges requires thoughtful policies and initiatives to ensure that the benefits of AI and automation are broadly shared.

Looking ahead, the future of AI in autonomous machines appears promising, with continuous innovations expected to further enhance their capabilities. Research indicates that advancements in machine learning algorithms and sensor technologies are leading to significant improvements in the performance and reliability of autonomous systems. These developments are anticipated to drive efficiency and productivity across various sectors.

Moreover, the global robotics market is projected to experience substantial growth in the coming years. According to market research, the industry is expected to expand significantly, driven by increasing demand for automation and AI-driven solutions. This growth presents opportunities for both established companies and new entrants to innovate and contribute to the evolving landscape of autonomous machines.
